Usagi Tsukino is a typical 14-year old girl in her second year of junior high. One of her wishes is to one day become a princess, stop studying and play video games all time.
One day she found a black female cat with a moon scar look alike in her front head called Luna. Luna, who can speak, tells Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon the first moment where Usagi is in real danger by some dark forces seeking the legendary Silver Crystal.
Usagi, who doesn't know anything about how to do the transformation is able to do it successfully and save the day against this evil forces. Now Usagi (Sailor Moon) is tasked to find the Silver Crystal, the lost princess of Luna's home and the other Sailor Guardians
The first sailor scout to appear is Ami Mizuno (Sailor Mercury - water). Ami is very intelligent and good with computers and mathematics. She is a very quiet bookworm.
Then appears Rei Hino (Sailor Mars - Fire). Rei is a shinto maid and because of her work as a Shintô priestess, Rei can sense and dispel evil even in civilian form. She is very focused about her new mission as Sailor Scout. She attends a different school so we see her in different uniform.
Rita Makoto is Sailor Jupiter (Fighting - Electricity). She is a transfer student but she decided to wear her old school uniform (because of her height). She had a romantic failure but is passionate about love.
Minako Aino (Mina - Sailor Venus or Sailor V. Her power is the power of Love). she was one of the earliest Sailor Guardians to appear in the city and had a video game to reach more quickly to Usagi. She is first presented as Princess Serenity and has a white talking cat (like Luna) called Artemis.
As the shows advances, we see how Usagi falls in love with Mamoru-chan (Mamo or Tuxedo Mask) and later we find out that in reality, Usagi is Princess Serenity, the princess of the moon kingdom and she already had in possession the Silver Crystal.
I really liked Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal (so far). Even if its considered a remake I like the designs of all the characters. I know some people liked more the 90's original anime but this one brings new production techniques using computerized animation.
Probably the only flaw at beginning is the eye design, but it is said that this anime is more exact to the manga counterpart. Not exactly in the story, but in the drawings (eyes and legs proportions). Usagi and the girls aren't so childish but still had some funny and comic moments.
In my opinion, Sailor Moon Crystal remake is good for younger generations to get involved in the Sailor Moon saga.
