My Deer Friend Nokotan: crazy anime in 12 episodes

Torako Koshi is a model second-year student at Minami High School in Hino City. She is the student council president with excellent grades and maintains an image of an ideal girl and honor student, but she secretly hides a past time in her life.

One morning, on her way to school, she encounters a strange girl hanging from a street lamppost. She notices that she has deer antlers. Although she's running late, she decides to help her down. From this moment on, chaos ensues in Torako's life.

  

The deer girl name is Shikanoko (Nokotan for short) and although she is grateful for Torako's help (Koshitan for short) she keeps mentioning and reminding Torako of her past life as a delinquent and gang leader.

Koshitan, afraid that her secret will be discovered at school, decides to support Nokotan in every way she can by creating the school's Deer Lovers Club and becomes her friend and protector with the goal of keeping Nokotan quiet in front of others. 

As the series progresses, Koshitan's younger sister Anko (who has an obsession with her sister) and Meme Bashame (who really likes rice and refers to herself as Bashame) join the club. 

Koshitan divides her time between classes, student council activities, and the Deer Club. However, the vice president of the council, Neko Nekoyamada, shows a rivalry toward Koshitan and tries to somehow have the Deer Club shut down. However, the other council members gradually develop an admiration for... Nokotan instead of Koshitan.

Hino City seems to be a sanctuary for deer because there are always deer around, either on the streets or in the zoo. Nokotan has a soft spot for deer biscuits and is always eating them, which is why hunters and other dangers threaten Nokotan and the city's deer. 

My Deer Friend Nokotan is a comedy anime without much of a story and with absurd but funny situations. I liked the character designs. The intro song is quite catchy. It only has 12 episodes, but it might get a second season.
