Anime review featuring Bocchi The Rock which is basically Cute Girls doing cool stuff from Cloverworks studio.
This is the story of Hitori Gotou, a shy and introverted girl who has a hard time making friends at school. One day, she sees a television interview about a guitarist who used to be introverted, but thanks to rock and playing in a band, he overcomes his shyness and becomes famous.
So Hitori takes her father's Gibson guitar and decides to teach herself how to play. But this doesn't make her any friends, as she remains housebound, with no social life, and uploads videos to YouTube on the family account as GuitarHero.
Little by little, Bocchi is getting better at his new routine of playing in a band and writing lyrics for a new song, but they always need a new member to sing and play guitar. This is where Ikuyo Kita comes in, a completely outgoing girl who was actually the guitarist who had initially let the Kessoku Band down because she couldn't play guitar.
Now the 4 members of the Kessoku Band must work together as a band, take photos together as a band, and design their own slogans and logos to wear on the clothes they will wear as a band.
The first big test is an audition to see if they have enough sound to play at the Starry club again. Once they're approved to play at the club, the next big test, decided by Bocchi after she filled out a form, is to play at the school's cultural festival in front of all the students and classmates.
Bocchi The Rock is a beautiful series with great visuals and a very powerful and powerful story. The only thing I perhaps didn't like much is that they take Bocchi's anxiety and shyness issues to the extreme, which at times hinders the story.
